Softshare ECS 6.0 Edition Overview

As with previous versions of Softshare ECS, ECS 6.0 has a lite, standard, and enterprise edition. All three editions benefit greatly from the new 6.0 enhancements and features; however, the general feature set of each edition has changed slightly.

Softshare ECS 6.0 Lite

In the 6.0 version, ECS Lite is limited to 10 trading partners. In addition, the SMTP server and the ING custom security features have been removed. If these new limitations affect your operations, Softshare is offering six-month incentive pricing for upgrading from ECS Lite to ECS Standard.

Softshare ECS 6.0 Standard

ECS 6.0 Standard no longer includes the RosettaNet HTTP extensions. If this affects your operations, Softshare is offering six-month incentive pricing for upgrading from ECS Standard to ECS Enterprise.

Softshare ECS 6.0 Enterprise

ECS 6.0 Enterprise includes scale-out processing and integrated failover technology, both of which are new 6.0 capabilities. But like the other two editions, the enterprise edition also has some new limitations in place. It no longer installs with a POP3 and FTP server, which means that mailbox services have been removed from the edition.

Note: Microsoft Message Queuing (i.e. the MSMQ input and output channels) has been removed from the ECS product altogether.
